Brief high heat

I set some duck eggs in the incubator yesterday. I have just found out how to calibrate the readings of the on board digital panel and also have 2 hygrometers as well. I was gone for about 4 hours yesterday and when I got home the readings for all of them were 101.7. I have no idea when that heat range was reached. I immediately opened the lid and brought the temps back down to 99.5 .
Do I need to worry that my eggs were harmed? They had been in the incubator less than 6 hours total when I got home.

Probably not. It takes quite a while for the interior of the eggs to reach air temperature. They may not have even totally heated up yet. The eggs are pretty tough at that stage too. They can handle a little abuse.

Is that incubator a still air or forced air? If it is a forced air the temperature should be the same all over, but hot air rises. It is very important where you take the temperature in a still air.
