Just a few minutes ago I noticed this bright red poop that one of our chickens had produced. It doesn't look like blood, but I don't know what else it would be. It reminds me of the color of a red velvet cupcake. (Only would chicken people associate poop with cupcakes) We haven't fed them any red colored candy or anything. The only thing I can think of is a strawberry that they might've eaten, but they've eaten them before and never done this. They all seem perfectly healthy. I have 3 hens that are all one year old and 2 roosters that are one even a year old yet.

Any ideas?

The only thing I can relate is that last year after I canned a bunch of beets I gave them the skins. If I hadn’t known better, I’d have thought they were pooping blood after that.

I’d strongly suspect something they ate, beets, beet greens, chard, red cabbage, maybe some type of weed. If they are acting OK I wouldn’t worry.

Thank you so much for the advice. I can't think of anything they might've eaten right now but I'm sure someone in my family knows.
