would anyone know if a foggers for amphibians could be a viable product to raise humidity at hatching?i have been too long away from my poultry.my small incubator ,even in south louisiana, doesn't get humid enough at times.thanks.

I would think foggers would produce WAY WAY too much humidity!

What about using a damp washcloth or something similar in part of the incubator to raise the humidity? Not touching the eggs of course. Since the incubator is warm and enclosed that should do it, just be sure to use a humidity gauge to monitor it.

You could sent a small bowl in their with water or a damp clothe. I definitely would not use a fogger as too much humidity could cause them to drown in the egg.

i was talking about during hatching when eggshell is sticking.didn't say,but even with our humidity(between 80 to 100%)onside the incubator.bowls, sponges, rags or spritzing don't help.best i have gotten was 58%.not air conditioned.have not lost any but dipping into warm water to remove shell scares me.friend was watching my incubator and drowned 20 of 35 chicks.she is where i used to live.humidity problems there also.i don't let ANY ONE help anymore.they were from a beautiful columbian rock trio.won several ribbons with them.just hate to have them stick.and yes have used several hygrometers.thanks for feed back.Cat wants to go to bed,he is so demanding.
