bringing goats too petsmart?

well if they are babies and you hold them the whole time, like I did, its ok. But I don't know about an adult goat.

Too many dogs in there. Your goat would not feel comfortable and some people would have trouble controlling their dogs. No goat of any size should be in petsmart.

I've taken my horse in before, several times. Usually once a year for Santa pics, but we'd do it more often when they had their little tack store. But goat /= horse, so.

My old boss and I took Reindeer in Petsmart....We got alot of stares that day...

At the request of an employee at my PetsMart, I brought in a Burmese Python. Muffin was 12 ft long and approx. 90 pounds at the time. She coiled up in the shopping cart and we got a LOT of shopping room. lol
I also brought in some juvinile anacondas, but they were in carriers. And before anyone says anything, I do NOT own snakes for the shock factor. I was fostering those beasties and someone at the store was interested in adopting the python. (She didn't adopt her, but someone else I met there that day did.)

I guess it would depend on the goat. I would keep them out of the treat isle though, with all the bins full of goodies. I think the employees would enjoy it.

I have goats and I wouldn't take one of them in to PetSmart and subject them to strange dogs and that much terror. I also wouldn't take my baby goats in there and subject them to the unknown diseases. Granted, most of the stuff a goat would catch ins't comminly found in pet stores, but why risk your animals health? Goats are prey not predators so going to PetSmart, even being carried, would not be fun for the goat - only fun for the owner...seems selfish to me.

My bottle babies have traveled with me at times but I never take them in to stores. They are much safer and secure staying in their crate in the truck. JMO

I see no reason to take any animal including a dog into petsmart unless you are taking them there for grooming. I just dont think a dog "gets" the whole idea of shopping.

On the other hand dont see a bit of differnce between a goat and an dog assuming both are trained to lead and are manageable. I have seen goats with better manners than some dogs.

What is good for one is good for the other. Now if you got a two hundred pound goat you cant handle that is differnet.
