We are trying to introduce two new hens (young 14 weeks) into the coop
the trouble is that the boss hen ( who used to be the low one on the pecking order
till we got rid of the old boss hen) is just ruthless to these new
hens , do I do anything or just let them take their lumps and
things will eventually settle out?

Hopefully you have quarantined your new hens from your current flock to make sure they are healthy.

After quarantine, can you separate the new from the current so they can see each other, but not touch each other. Maybe with some chicken wire. That way, they can get to know each other.

Then in a week or so, be patient, you can give them some supervised together time. There will be pecking but hopefully not too bad.

Good luck!
