Brinsea EcoGlow 20

I'm having a problem with my brand new Ecoglow. We have six chicks in the brooder with the Brinsea EcoGlow20. The cord has two pieces, one which attaches to the unit and the other which is the adapter that plugs into the wall. The place where they connect is kind of loose and twice I have gone in to check on them and the Ecoglow has been off. I called their customer service number and they said I would need to send it in for repair, which is clearly not going to work with six chicks currently using it. Has anyone else had this problem?

Can you tape it together so, it stays tight for now? Electrical tape should work well. I don't have that kind of incubator but, I would definitely return it.
