I just unboxed a new Brinsea Maxi 24 and the hatching mat is corrugated cardboard. Cardboard- really??
How much will that impact humidity at a critical point in incubation as it absorbs moisture? I used a spongy shelf liner in a NR360 but became suspicious about gases versus the NR itself when hatch rate was 30%.

I guess I was expecting a more robust mat from Brinsea.
Would love to hear opinions. thx ☺️

I use shelf liner in my NR 360 and my maticoopx 30, I have had good hatches in all of them.
I would definitely replace the cardboard.
