I am struggling with incubator and wanted to set eggs tonight. My humidity shows only 33% with new accurate. And I think my vent adjustment is not working? Vent is open when I have it totally shut. That is wrong, right? And halfway looks like it's really open! I have not used incubator in years.

Any help is appreciated as I wanted to set tonight! Have shipped eggs that have been sitting for couple days. Thank you!

Do you have an octagon eco? My octagon 40 has a built in hygrometer and is very accurate.

The vent when closed is not open much and you have to keep the vent open after about day 10 of incubation or the embryos will die.

First you will need to calibrate the hygrometer or verify that it is reading humidity correctly. Accurite is not meant for incubation. I would get one like this

If the humidity is actually too low, you can use sponges in the bottom water channels.

Thank you! I ended up just following directions, and they are hatching now. I'm on day 20, and so far I have nearly 6 out of 14 hatched (6 is working hard now). My thermometer, must have been off. I just ignored the humidity part of it, and filled one channel, until lockdown.

Did the trick apparently!

The incutherm plus would be good for next time you hatch. Humidity can be different based on the time of the year
