The Brinsea Ovation 28 did fine my last hatch, but it was a pain trying to keep humidity up. I ran a tube through the top vent. (See pic) That worked okay for adding water to the front well, but the cumbersome lid has to be removed to add water to the back well.

So.. I’m thinking of drilling holes by each water well and running tubes. Then I could add water via syringe to both wells during incubation. Has anyone ever tried this? Any reason why I shouldn’t?

I'm not familiar with Brinsea really, as in how they work, but it looks like it would be straightforward, if you're confident you can drill them without cracking the plastic.

Main consideration would be possible lowering of resale value, to my mind. Hopefully someone that runs them will chime in soon.

Good point about resale, I’ll have to give some thought to whether that matters to me or not. The darn lid is just so clumsy, especially when adding water during a hatch.

I suppose the other option is to put a splitter in a tube going through the vent. Maybe I could have water going to a cloth in addition to the well. Hmm.

If you glued the splitter to the inside hole it would stay and you could run the tubing threw it.
