Brinsea owners and duck hatchers - some advice please!

I think it's reading accurately. Once I calibrate my dial hygro I shall stick it in and check. My one duckling that made it to lockdown ended up shrink wrapped; he had broken off the shell in big bits most of the way round the egg but the membrane was still completely intact apart from where he had pipped. I had a quick poke about this morning with a wet Qtip but there were still quite a lot of blood vessels so I didn't do anything more. By late afternoon they had shrunk away and I peeled off the membrane then left him to squeeze out by himself. I thought his abdomen looked swollen but he seems to be doing okay, just sleeping quietly. Now to find him a little buddy...

Well, I just found out why he was shrink wrapped, and it was nothing to do with the incubator. My boyfriend just admitted to opening the bator early this morning to peel off some shell and 'help' it to hatch, cause it had been sitting in there for 36 hours with only 1cm or so of 'zip' round the shell.

I can't believe he did that, I've only explained to him about a DOZEN times to never mess with my bators.

And he's nearly 45, you'd think he'd know better at that age. I'm going to have to start duck taping them shut now...
