Aren't they cute? It's about the only thing I can make that's half way decent. But I won't give up! Has anyone ever made these? I found the tutorial on Burda

Is this the right stitch style for undies? Any hints on how to improve my machine stitching skills? If you look close, they aren't even. Actually, they are hideous stitches. In the crotch I guided the material to far to the left somehow and the material actually got stuck in the bottom of the metal plate thingy. I had to rip it out. I even ironed and pinned everything yet it still looks like I drank a 6 pack before doing this.

Those are cool! Do they stay up without elastic? Sometimes with stretchy fabric it helps to use a backing that you can tear away after you are done stitching, it stablizes the fabric. They make tear away or water soluble interfacing. But I always try just tissue paper first and see if that is heavy enough to help.

Not the sticky or iron on kind. I use tissue paper between the fabric and the sewing machine. It stops the fabric from stretching and helps stop skipped stitches. This article uses wax paper. An other thing that helps with knits is a ball point needle for your sewing machine if you aren't using one already. There is also an interfacing that dissolves when it is washed but it is pretty pricey and I would try the tissue paper or wax paper first. http://www.ehow.com/how_5142335_sew-knit-fabrics.html I guess the stuff that dissolves is called a wash away stablizer. http://sewing.about.com/gi/o.htm?zi...w.sulky.com/stabilizers/index_stabilizers.php
