broad breasted whites

Thank you ALL for such a warm welcoming! And for understanding that I am raising this birds as pets not for meat, not that I am against it, I just cant personally eat anything I've raised 🤣😂 it would cause WAY too much issues! And my hubby doesnt want to listen to me crying over eating one of my birds either so he wouldn't EVER try to ask that of me 😂🤣 I'm so sorry that I posted this clearly under 'hatching' I see, obviously dead give away that I am the new girl around here! 😳🤦🏼‍♀️ so again, I'm sorry to everyone that I made a boo boo, I'm learning. But I will admit, this website is actually one I've used for YEARS but I JUST NOW made a profile! Yall have such great information, so much so that whenever I have a question and my mother doesn't know she says 'amber go on byc and its probably answered already on there!' So to whomever made this site, GOD BLESS YOU CAUSE YOU HAVE REALLY SAVED ME A BUNCH OF TIMES 🤣😂

Welcome to BYC! It's so nice to meet you! :frow My neighbor had a broad breasted white hen that she kept as a pet for almost 5 years. She restricted her feed, and let her free range daily. She was a darling! She never had any health issues until a few weeks ago when she suddenly passed away. We think the heat got to her. 😔

Aww bless her! 🤗hugs for yalls loss! I'm so sorry and THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for that great information! You are giving me SO MUCH hope and I am praying that I can end up with the same luck! Because my babies are truly hilarious and loving! My daughter just recorded a video just now of me with them I'll see if I can make this upload 🤞
Oh and side note- I had planned on allowing them to free range and while it was our intention, it appears that the neighbors that are on the other side of the field from my home do not understand how I do not want their dogs in my yard or anywhere near my birds! I live in north Carolina, in nc if you ask any sworn officer and or judge, lawyers, whomever, they'll tell you 'you have a right to protect yourself and your property any way you deem fit' and as animals, pets, livestock, cars, homes, etc all fall under personal property, you have the rights to protect it as you see fit. When I 1st caught his dog here JUST before she grabbed 1 of my birds, I didnt shoot her which is within my rights, I called him and told him again to please stop letting his dogs come here as I keep my dogs at my home and not ever in his yard etc, he laughed and thought it was hilarious when I said his dog tried to grab a bird and I just did stop it, apparently its hilarious? So because he royally ticked me off I told him that if his dog came here again and tried to kill one of my animals, I'd shoot it, he again thought that was JUST HILARIOUS! truth be told, I wouldnt ACTUALLY do this but he doesnt HAVE TO know that!😂🤣 since then his dog came and almost got in my kennel by digging in the middle of the night, it's a nightmare with this man! So now because of him and his piss poor ownership abilities he possesses, in order to allow my birds to free range, we have to spend a ton of money to fence in most of our back yard! Which we are in the process of pricing, but hopefully I can have it done and that mans dogs dont dig under THAT too! This keeps up, I'm buying a trap, and catching his dogs and calling the dog catcher 😂🤣 I'm over him taking me as a joke!
