I have 20 Cornish X Rocks showing up from Murray McMurray this week. We have layers but this is our first try with meat birds. I did my homework on feeds but now I am getting nervous and questioning myself. I do not have acces to any feed that is titled Broiler Starter or Meat Bird Starter. I did purchase Nutrena Country Feeds Meatbird 20% Crumble to start and perhaps finish the birds on.

Am I on the right track or do I actually have to have a feed that says Broiler Starter on the bag? Any advice and/or shedding of light on this will be greatly appreciated.

That's fine....

It's what I feed all my birds start to finish, I have also feed the nutrena Orange bag meat bird grower that's 22% protein.

I switched to the country feeds version because of cost. There has been no difference in the health, gain or taste of the birds.

We are processing 75 Wednesday that have only ate that feed their entire lives. The birds are healthy and look great.

You can feed what you have without issue.

I used turkey feed because that is what I could get. Some people use game bird feeds. Depends on what is available in your area. I did get Broiler Booster from Murray McMurray. It is added to the water and it seemed to make a difference in over all health of my birds.
