Broiler Starter for Regular Heavy Breeds?

Can you give a dual purpose bird broiler starter? Will they grow faster, bigger, meatier? I really like BO meat, but I have never given them anything but regular chick starter. Has anybody given their regular chicks broiler starter?

The 2 places where I buy feed don't give me that option - only general-purpose starter.

What you are suggesting makes sense to me and this bumps up your post so that others may respond

The only question I would have is leaving the flock-replacement birds on a real high-protein starter too long. As growth slows in those birds that are over 8 weeks old, say, extra protein is probably "wasted" on them and may even prompt too early reproductive maturing.

. . . just a question in my mind and a couple cents in the pot . . .

No, it won't make any difference.

Broiler starter and chick starter are almost identicle.

what breed are you talking about? Some breeds, yes.

I have breeds like the Buff Orp, Barred Rock, or Red Sex-Link.
