Broke an egg today :(

I spilled my container of water in the incubator and in my haste to pick up the eggs before they got wet, I dropped an egg. I have 10 days left until hatch day... it didn't bleed but I didn't crack it open to look in case there was a poor little peep in there. If it didn't bleed.. was it probably one of the unfertilized eggs? I think there might be two in there but I'm scared to throw them out.

If the shell is cracked but the membrane did not break then it will be fine.. Put a little bit of candle wax on it.. just a thin layer on the crack itself and put it back in the incubator... An egg that is cracked will not bleed unless you break the shell, outter membrane and into the internal membrane that holds the veins....

DH took it away. It's gone now. The shell broke and egg white came out. He didn't want me to see a potentially dead chick so he got rid of it...

Ahh ok... Then yes, I would say it was an infertile egg if there was egg white but no blood...
