Lost another hen last night, one of this year's little buddies. A very nice hand raised Buff Orphington that would come over to you when approached, waiting to be picked up. Got my latest hatch of pheasants into the brooder about 20 minutes ago, and as a habitI shined my streamlight along the edge of the field. EYEBALLS!

I guess it pays to be a gun nut with a loaded gun always at the ready. The Henry .22 earned a permanent place in the gun room tonight. Amazing how a headshot stops them. She won't be bothering us any more, nor will her batch of young ones.

You guys are lucky you live in the States.

Here in stupid Europe(at least my country) you cannot own any rifles.Only shotguns, but I don't want to waste my cartridges on predators.

God Bless the homemade .22

That's awesome! And I love that Henry .22 with the lever action... I quickly checked my live trap this morning which is set up about 20 feet from my coop and see I have caught a possum last night, I will be using my old Marlin .22 at a very close range when I get home tonight.

We have a new bob cat out for my chickens last year I lost a few before we finally got the bad kitty with the 12 gauge and soon there will be another one joining this one in the ground.

this was last years.

Stop throwing those sheep bones out on the deck

LOL

They come up and eat out of the cat food bowl.

There was a Red Fox out there one night, but it wouldn't go in the trap.

He made the fatal mistake of trying to cross the pasture in daylight , though
