Broke in another rifle. (a bit of blood)

I do have lots of 2x4 wire, hardware cloth, auto doors, and an electric fence. They will always test you.

Seriously any predator gets eliminated. They are not Disney animals. These are more like the wicked little animals in South Park's "Imagination Land." Complacency leads to losses, sometimes horrific losses. All you have to do is read the first page here to prove that. Luckily I live in a State and area where controlling them is perfectly legal.

I keep a loaded .22 rifle just inside the back door.

Steve

This, and a 12 gauge, and an AR15 with a tac light, all in a key pad activated locker by the garage door.

Some of you may think this is a little far out, but here in Georgia we have a carry permit. I have one the keep a .380 on my waist at all times. We have rabid fox, I've seen a mountain lion on my property, armadillo's that will destroy everything, and the snakes. I have dispatched some of these critters already. I won't leave the house with my pistol. I do keep a Rutger 10/22 at the back door. After reading these predator post I went out and made sure it is still zeroed. It is.

I cant shoot a rifle where I live so I have the compound bow ready to go, sneak out the front door and I am good at about 30 yards. Got two raccoons so far this way.

My wife is a wildlife rehabilitator, mostly bunnies and squirrels. The other night one of her fellow rehabbers took her out with her to release the NINE little possums she had been raising since their mama died trying to eat tire rubber.

They were cute little buggers, too.

DW tried to rehab three baby possums a few years back, but one morning she woke up and there were only two and a half baby possums in the cage. No mo possums at our house.

I highly doubt anyone in this thread hangs around outside like Yosemite Sam with their guns at the ready.

I can sit in the "sun room" and see a quite a bit, and there is always a gun handy

If your guns aren't "ready" they are useless

The other night one of her fellow rehabbers took her out with her to release the NINE little possums

That puts them up by 2 since I just caught a Mama and 6 babies that I won't be releasing
