Broken blood feather

Hi, all. One of my 5 month old hens has what I believe it a blood feather. I tried fixing her on my own, followed every step from what I’ve read online. It was fine for a while but now she is bleeding here and there occasionally. Does anyone know how much a trip to the vet will cost? I set an appointment.

Styptic power should stop the bleeding, cornstarch is the next best thing. If you just can not get the bleeding to stop you can always pluck the feather.

I’m not home right now but yesterday it looked like it was clotting and blood coming from a feather pore? Not sure how to describe it

If it's still bleeding when you get home, you should probably remove the feather. Too much blood loss can kill them.

I removed the feather the first time but the same thing happened again

You fully plucked out the bleeding pin feather, one grew back in the exact same place and broke again?
