Broken bloody feather?

My coturnix quail chick, Ghost (roughly one week old) has a broken wing feather! Its a bit bloody and I'm afraid it will get caught on something and hurt her. What do I do?

The feather doesn't bleed much? So it's a fully formed feather without blood supply, the blood comes from damage to the skin? If so, I think you could just use a pair of scissors to cut it off near the skin. If the feather has a blood supply, it could bleed quite a lot and in that case you'd probably have to use pliers to pull the entire feather to get the bleeding to stop.
