I came home to find one of my BCMs with an injured leg. I'm not sure how she hurt it. Initially it didn't seem to bother her too much, she still was able to move around, still laid her egg every other day. The last couple of days she's been less mobile, and it seems to be bothering her more. She's dragging it behind her now, where before she was mostly just hopping around. It doesn't seem to hurt her when I touch the leg, or when i've moved it. I've tried making a splint, and i've tried wrapping it with athletic tape. Neither seems to work properly. I also checked her out for bumblefoot when she initially injured it- no signs of injury or infection. I would love some ideas or suggestions if you guys have encountered this! Thanks for your help!

It could be curled toe paralysis which can happen with a riboflavin deficiency, a nerve injury, or be a symptom of Mareks disease. How old is she? Was she vaccinated for Mareks? I would try some vitamins such as human B complex 1/4 tablet daily. If her foot and toes will allow you to place them in a proper position, you also could try making a foot splint or boot. A simple on can be made with a piece of foam meat tray doubled for strength, and cut into a shape of a kite or elongated diamond. Place her foot on that and tape her foot and toes flat. On pages 23-24 in this splinting manual, there are pictures of this foot splint:

Thanks so much! I will try that. She's about 8-9 months old I think. I'm not sure if she's been vaccinated, i'll reach out to the breeder I got her from and ask.
