I don't think she's a meat bird, she'd be much larger at 7 weeks than she is.
Probably don't need to rest cleaned carcass for more than a day at that age.

What Eggcessive means was that is she was specially raised for her meat, might as well go ahead and eat her. I suppose your choice to do that is actually very reasonable. I had a duck who was stung by a bee in the tongue. It was too expensive to go to the vet, and using the money I spend at the vet, I could buy like 3 more ducks, so I decided to put him out of misery and eat him. It is a similar case you have here. I'm sorry for your loss

You definitely made the right choice. I commend you for teaching your kids that sometimes we have to make hard decisions and do what’s best for our animals.
