broken feather and bleeding

I have a young sultan pullet That was spending most nights at the preschool. The preschool class is now ended until summer I reintroduced the chick named Jenny and a pal like I do every weekend. They flock used to accept the pullets back with a small amount of peeking this time they are being really bad with picking on this one. This morning she had blood all over her feet and I thought she was missing a toe but it is a broken feather I think. We cleaned up her feet put vitamins in the water flour to stop the bleeding and we are going to try to put my big golden sex link chick(3 weeks old) with her for company the chick will be watched until we are sure they will get along.
Is there anything else I should look for? should I treat her with topical neosporin? She is a real sweetie and I would hate for her to get sick.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

It sounds like a blood feather when I have birds break them I get ahold of the feather with hymostates and pull it firmly out that stops the bleeding

We were able to stop the bleeding. Should we still remove the feather? What about neosporin?

i think i would just keep her safe, warm, fed and watered and go from there.

as long as you cleaned the wounds, i would personally just leave them and let them be exposed to air and sunshine. if necessary, blu-kote her wounds, but other than that let her be. giving or treating with antibiotics can slow the healing process sometimes. (a doctor here in Michigan did a study of band aids and healing times. the ones with Neosporin built in actually took the longest to heal!)

The I think Jenny is going to half to be a house bird she is actually very sweet. The sultans look so mean as adults but her temper is the sweetest ever.

If it happens again just pull the feather and then use slight pressure with your finger to stop the bleeding. It will stop much sooner that way. Also flour or sugar are both excellent blood-stop powders and you have them handy.

It is very common for feather-legged birds to get broken (and possibly bloody) foot feathers. Your girl should be fine
