broken feathers

the wind was very strong this past few weeks

my rooster is moulting but only on his hackles and breast part

but the feather wings and tails are being broken to 2 inches or 3 inches because of the wind. it dont drop yet and i dont want to pull it cause that will hurt him

i just started to feed him only cracked corn so the moult should go faster

is it really long the moulting period?

im afraid that he only moult on his body and he will be stuck with his broken wing and tail feathers

For some reason I have heard from everyone that the moult has been very hard this year. It was my experience that my birds moulted long and hard as well. I hope your poor guy gets over his quickly. Maybe the corn will help if you have read that in an article. I have not heard that one before, interesting

My RIR, Matilda is just now molting, poor girl she looks awful.
