I have a metal framed glass window that has a swing window, that I used as a coop door. I have used this window for over 10 years. This morning when I went to let my birds out they were already out. They are about 9 weeks + old.

I went to see how they got out and I saw there window/door like this.

I am guessing a bobcat. But I don't know. I have a cage that can catch a bob cat and will set it up tonight.
I thought, well maybe the breaking of the glass scared off who ever broke the glass... but then I found this tuft of SS.

It had a bit of meat attatched. I have not had much luck with SS. But I do have a couple more.

We have hunters right next door. I was surprised we got hit by a predator, but maybe with all the hunters, it may have sent predators into hiding and they got hungry.

I took out the broken glass and found a board to fit in the door/window area. I got eye hooks and screwed them into the board and zip-tied them in place. Tonight I will set up the cage trap. I will post what I catch, if anything.

It almost looks like something broke the glass like an object or hard item. could something have fallen on it or knocked into it? I imagine the predator came in once it was broken as it was easy to get to? hope your other babies are ok <3

So sorry.
Judging by how high the blow was and the thickness of the glass bobcat is a good guess. I bet it saw the birds inside and lunged. Hope you catch whatever it is.

I am thinking an owl, because I have not caught anything with my cage, and it was not interested in bait. Another lady in my development said an owl broke her chicken coop window to get to her chickens also.
