Lost 12 meat chickens from zero predators they had spotty livers and they were green colored when we found them in their box. There were other live birds in there too . Only the large ones died 😭🥀has anyone else had this happen ? Their box was secure and they were dry and had been fed normally before bed :(

They were put to bed when it began to rain at 7 pm and we opened the box at 530 this morning . The box is about 2 feet tall and three feet long they are free range during the day and had lots of water and layer feed
Can you post a picture of the box?
Did you have heat on them?
Can you post a picture of the birds that are still alive that were in the same box?

The didn't all just drop dead for no reason.
I am asking specific questions...for a reason...to help you learn something and prevent more deaths.
Can you go take pictures of the other birds that didn't die and pictures of the box?

We’re not putting them back in that box we are cooping them in with laying hens in a separate cage tonight. I believe they got trampled possibly. Emotionally I can’t go out there right now. . If we do meat chickens again we are building a new coop entirely.
