I’m going to take pictures tomorrow to post if that helps at all.
The situation is that I have a pullet that I took in hoping I could get it to walk again. It’s knee was very swollen and at a weird angle. I kept icing it a few times a day until it was a normal size and then I just kept an eye on it and iced it when it started to look inflamed. It actually was fairly straight. I got this one about three weeks ago but I don’t know how old it was when I got it.
Well they’ve been outside for a week now (her and the others I got the same time. Two silkies, a spitzheiben, and a black sex link they thought). I noticed today that her leg is bending as if it’s turned 90° And I am worried that it won’t hold up when she’s bigger. She doesn’t appear to be in pain. She runs and jumps and walks with the rest. And she doesn’t lay down a bunch like when I first got her. Honestly I wasn’t sure she’d last this long, but I still would like to keep her as healthy as possible.
I’ve read a lot of things saying that in order to fix it you have to act within 24 hours of hatching. Well, I didn’t have her yet at that point, so I guess I was sol from the start. Is there a splint or something I can do now, even though she’s a bit older.
