My fiancé works at a boat dock and yesterday he came home with a baby quail which someone had accidentally dragged in a sea doo for nearly an hour. Its leg is broken at what I would call the knee and the bottom part is sticking out past the top part (be aware pic attached is graphic). I am having a hard time getting in contact with wildlife rehabbers. I’m not sure if it is because it’s the weekend or limited resources or what.. but I was hoping I may find some answers here or elsewhere on the web. I need to know what I can do for the injury (splint or something maybe), what to feed it, how to water, does it need a bath, what kind of bedding or environment would be suitable and not cost a fortune, and also keep it safe from my cat and dog, and how to reintroduce it back in to the wild or if that will even be possible if I nurse it back to health and get it adjusted to living in a cage, etc. or should I just take it back as is to the nearest place we can get it to where it was first found if I can’t get in touch with rehabbers? Thank you in advance for any info you can give me to help this cute little baby!
