A little over a week or so ago I brought in one of my chickens because she was limping and wasn't putting any weight on her right leg. I had one a couple of months that hurt her leg, I brought her in, she got better, and I let her out. When I brought the current one in, I checked her for bumblefoot and it looked like the only thing that was wrong was her toe hurt. She's gotten worse in the past two or three days, and she keeps falling over. I picked her up and looked again, and her right knee (I guess you would call it a knee) is swollen and pinkish with a darker spot and a kinda scabby patch. I thought that it's just from hopping around on that joint instead of her foot on the hard ground. I gave her a bath and washed it and I noticed that she can't extend that joint. I put her cage outside so she could be on the softer grass, and with the other chickens. She is eating normally, drinking normally, her poop looks normal I think (I'll attach a photo), she's talking normally, and she doesn't act lethargic besides laying down because her leg hurts. Does anyone have any ideas what I should do?

Could you post a picture of the entire right foot, please? Is there a scab on her toe or is it poop?

Her hook is very swollen, does it feel hard or rather wobbly? And does she have more scabs on her leg/foot?

She doesn't have any other scabs besides the one on her hook. The swollen part just feels swollen, so it's a bit soft on the sides but harder on the bottom. I just gave her a bath so she's clean, and I cushioned her cage with a bunch of old feed bags.

That joint sure is inflamed, no wonder she is unable to extend the leg. This might be caused by an injury => scab - bacterial infection.

Or might have some other reason as for instance mycoplasma synoviae: https://www.msdvetmanual.com/poultry/mycoplasmosis/mycoplasma-synoviae-infection-in-poultry

Thank you!

What should I do for a bacterial infection? Can I put an antibiotic ointment on it? Should I wrap it lightly in gauze to keep it clean? Should I just wait for it to go away?

You could try to make a compress using ACV to reduce the swelling and keep her separated in a clean environment. You may want to look into the use of a sling chair to relieve the pressure on her leg.

I would also just take a close look with a flashlight- maybe make sure there isn't something in there (piece of glass, sharp piece of nature etc)
