Broken or fracture leg? Have I done all I can?

Yesterday our EE started hopping so today I checked her over. She apparently has a broken or fractured leg. I found the site about half way up her leg and it is swollen and a small amount of blood. I put a splint on her and wrapped in vet tape. She is now in the house in a cage with scrambled eggs and feed to eat. I tried to give her vitamin water but she would not drink, so I changed out to regular water. She was on the front porch all day in the nice weather and is inside the house tonight. Is there anything else I can do for her? She does not seem too uncomfortable. I have no idea what happened to her. Hopefully it is just a fracture nd not a complete break. Thanks for any suggestions.

If her foot swells or gets real cold and pale, you have the vet wrap too tight, readjust. Check for this every once in a while. Did you clean the bloody site? you should remove splint and clean with plain saline once a day if the skin is broken. 1/4 teaspoon in a cup of water.

I have my neighbor's chicken with a broken leg. It's splinted, I don't want to take off the splint unless I have to or at least a week. I feel her toes to make sure they're warm. (I think if mine had a skin injury, I'd not wait a week to look). She's in a crate with lots of good food offered, water. I put the vitamin/electrolyte in the food (oatmeal suprise). Yesterday she looked uncomfortable (panting) so I gave her 1/2 a baby aspirin. Today she's back to being curious and calm. Eating like a pig now. I had to trim her hiney feathers because of the poop stuck to them.

I think they always have to molt when they're sick or hurt to make it look like they're REALLY sick

I wonder if supplementing calcium is good for chickens with broken legs?
