I have been looking around for previous posts about toenail issues because I noticed yesterday that my "favorite fuzzy red head" (5 week old rhode island red pullet) was missing the toenails on both of her middle toes. I thought maybe she broke them off some how, but I'm not sure. Could it be a genetic trait, or could they just have broken off somehow? She's a hatchery chick and none of her "sisters" have this toe issue, so that's why I'm not sure.
