Broken shell fused with mucous membranes in uterus - what now?

I would not have any further surgery, but make her comfortable and hopefully she will recover. She is probably developing salpingitis. It is common in hens over 2, and egg products of the ovary secreted may become surrounded by more material developing masses inside the oviduct or abdomen. These objects are known as lash egg material. Sometimes they will pass smaller ones in droppings or the nest box, or we may see them inside the abdomen during a necropsy/autopsy.

Thank you! Yes, this is pretty much our strategy, and our fear. Celebrating that she's doing better now, she's chirping and scratching and dust bathing in the home hospital enclosure 😊
