One of my cockerels suddenly developed what appears to be a "broken tail". He moves around just fine, eats, drinks, flies, etc. He acts as if nothing is wrong, but his tail feathers all point at an almost 90 degree angle to the side. What is going on?

Thanks is advance for your help! Trish.

sounds like "Wry" tail i believe its called. I have a pullet like that. shes fine.. i just wouldn't breed them (if you show them). because it can breed into the offspring.. producing more

Thank you for the information. I googled "wry tail poultry" and found some pretty good information about it. Those websites encouraged culling the "weak" bird with the wry tail, actually going as far as to say "wry tail should be aggressively stamped out". But, I am with you.... I will probably just hang on to it, since I don't breed them. If I do decide to breed any, I will keep them separated. I have another rooster anyway. Maybe we will fatten him up and make chicken noodle soup out of him this winter! lol.
