Broken Toe....What should i do?

This morning when i went out to care for my chickens and rabbits, one of my chickens was laying in a corner so still i thought she was dead, but when went and petted her, she was alive (whew...) but wouldn't walk on her right foot, and the toe was bent backwards funny. What should i do with it??

Sorry to hear about it, can you put up a photo? is there any bone showing/ broken skin?

The first thing you should think about is preventing infection. Here is what you should do.

1) soak the toe in iodine solution
2) apply an antimicrobial to the whole toe
3) dress it and apply athletic tape
4) change bandages every day and apply antimicrobial cream to it
5) call a veterinarian's office for instructions on bandaging broken toes. This link may help.
