I have a cuckoo maran hen who is between 4-6 months old. She has a toe that is bent at the joint. It points out instead of being straight. She doesn't act as if it hurts as she walks/runs just fine. When I picked her up to examine it all toes curled as they should including the bent toe. As soon as she straightened out her toes the one toe went crooked again. Is it okay if it goes untreated? what is the treatment? does it hurt?

In my opinion, that is often genetic, though it could have been caused by other factors when she was younger.

Unless you're breeding birds for show to standard, it shouldn't cause problems if she hasn't a problem with it.

I feel that you can only treat those things when they very first start.

Don't worry! I have a rooster with almost all crooked toes, he does fine with them. I doubt you can treat it, it's probably just genetic. But it doesn't sound like she has a problem with it!
