Hi we have an Easter egger that has been sitting well for 2 weeks. We have her separated and placed in garage with her clutch. The problem is that when she takes her bathroom breaks every few days she tries to return to the coop which is closed off.

We have to catch her and put her back on the nest each time. Once we put her back on the nest she sits great. This has worked well so far but is a chore to keep bringing her back in. Any way to do this better?

Thanks

Generally hens don't want to be moved from their chosen nest site. I would be happy she's actually setting when you return her. Just another week to go, so keep it up.

Are you saying she used to be in this coop alone and she is the only chicken?

No others are in coop. She started going broody in there so she imprinted to the coop. But other chickens were kicking her off her nest so we moved her to garage. Due date is 4 more days!
