Brooder advice? ~help~

Give the produce dept. at your local grocery a call and see if they'll hold a carboard tote for you--the ones that watermelons and the like come in. Failing that you might try Home Depot, Lowes, etc. and see if they have any fridge or stove boxes available. Put some poultry wire or hardware cloth over the top and some broken down smaller carboard boxes on the bottom (so you can change them out if needed) with some pine pellets or shavings and you have yourself a brooder.

Thanks you guys...I was thinking about the watermelon box too! It will be in my garage!

Produce bin, large box, or some cheap OSB bracketed together will all work great. Whatever you use, you might have to trim it down a little so you can actually reach down in there.

Thanks all of you guys, heres a question of topic but do any of you know were the best place to buy Silkies and D'Uccles is? I kinda need a hatchery with good quality birds, but I know hatcheries aren't made for quality! Any help is thanked!

I can't help you there directly, but I'd suggest trying a want to buy ad in the buy/sell section here on byc or see if there is a thread for your area in the where am I where are you part of the forum and ask there.
