To be honest Ducks do not require as much Grit as a Chicken does. I never supplement my Ducks Grit till winter or Ducklings..

you're better equipped to judge that than I am. The last duck I saw was on the discovery channel. I read about the mess and my better half slammed the door.

True story, a friend supplied Grit to Ducklings and they ate it all and all died from impacted crops.

I haven’t ever had a problem with any of mine eating too much grit but all are raised by a mama duck. I just put a small container of chick grit out for my chicks I raised inside they didn’t over endulge either. I would not use sawdust until duckling were at least a week old and knew what food was from it. Same with shaving they get pee pads or towels for first week.

chick mess compared to duck mess for me was like a 2 year olds mess and an 18 ton elephant who only ate taco bell

My ducklings love to eat the grit so now I mix a bit into their feed bowl when they are not going outside. They are now getting ready to stay outside at least several of them. I have a few that are two weeks younger than my older ones.

So they will be coming inside for another week or so, as temps started dropping at night.

I also might want to add that they are being brooded in my living room so certain things aren’t available to me. Which was why I asked about different beddings.
