Brooder bedding

Cedar is full of oils, it causes resparatory issues when animals are exposed to it all day 1" off the surface.

I've used pine and pebbles for young chicks and both work fine.

I was using straw but I think I'm going to try the shelf liner method. I think one of my chicks in my last batch died after trying to ingest a piece of the straw.

I put newspaper and then a rubber shelf liner on my brooder floor.  I can then throw away the newspaper and wash and reuse the shelf liner.
Here is the type of liner I use:

Mine is white but the color really doesn't matter.  It is very slip-proof and super easy to clean with dish soap and a good scrubbing brush.
Utility sink for the win!

Is this the liner others suggested for the incubators when ready to hatch? Lockdown is tomorrow and want to have the right thing. TIA
