For my brooder box I have a heat lamp, or I could use something that would simulate a mother chick, like a heat mat or something of that sort. I've read that broody hen's chicks go broody more often. While chicks raised in a brooder box and heat lamp do not go broody as often. Any insight would be helpful! Thank you!! :)

I’ve never heard of that and can’t see much truth to it. Mainly the key factor in broodiness is breed. Who’s more likely to brood, a Leghorn or Silkie? Brooding with heat mats, heat plates or a ceramic bulb is more recommended than a light emitting heat lamp. It’s healthier on their eyes and behaviour.
