Hi,

We should be getting our chicks tomorrow or Friday. We have a box for the brooder but it had some large metal staples in the bottom, on a couple places on top and holding the box together on two corners. We removed the ones on top and on the bottom but we are wondering about the ones on the corners. They are not opened and sticking out into the box. They are bent down and don't seem sharp. We considered putting Gorrilla tape over them but then I was wondering if the chicks would pick at the tape and if that could make them sick?

I am in no means an expert, but we've had chicks for 9 days now. The first thing I learned is they like anything shiny. Mine love my ring. Second, they peck everything lol. We have a spot where the box was stapled too. I took the staples out and taped the outside really well. So far, no problems.

:rolleyes:Ha! Well duh!, why didn't I think of that......? I could remove the staples and tape the outside of the box rather than the inside! My goodness, all this chick prep reading is making me brain dead!

Thank you!! We'll do that.
