First time duck owner here. I have one duck almost 3 weeks and another is about 10 days old. I am still bumbling around in the land of knowing nothing. I have the EcoGlow brooder in the ducks brooder to give them heat at night. They seem to enjoy it and do sleep under it at night. When is heat no longer required for ducks overnight? I do not keep a light on them all night.

In my case, the weather was warming up as the ducklings were growing, so when the 90F minus 5 degrees per week got to the house temperature, the heat lamps were removed. Then when the "rule of thumb" reached the outdoor nighttime temperature (which I recall was 40F), they went to the outdoor duck house.

Mine are usually off the heat lamp by 4 weeks. However, to be fair I only raise chicks in spring and summer which down here is when it's almost always at least 80 degrees.
