I was wondering if a blue light would work in place of the red light in my brooder to help with my bob whites to
stop pecking at each other?

I don't know about bob whites but as I understand physics the red spectrum, particularly the infrared, is what generate heat to raise brooder temperature. A blue bulb will also generate some electrical heat but it doesn't have the heat benefit of the infrared bulb.

If you read blue light can be used, blue was probably referring to the color temperature of the light. Most CCFL are usually 2700k, where as full spectrums are about 6300k. Blue bulbs are usually even higher than that. The higher color temperatures can be used in brooders, but the lowers color temperatures using make for more relaxed, less pecky birds, especially in bobs.
When I brooder them, I had to switch from a 7200 bulb (used because I had it) to a 2000k red incandescent and it made a huge difference in their pecking.
