Last winter was freakishly cold, for here at least. The temp dropped to 16*F two nights after I moved 5-week-old chicks out to the grow out coop. We had two weeks straight were it didn't get over 32. Our average winter temps are between 35 to 55 degrees.Really? Lucky. We had a low of -47° celsius.
Wow. I know that is cold for you, this winter has been harsh. Although I won't lie, I'd kill for 16°F right now!Last winter was freakishly cold, for here at least. so sorry to hear that. I have a couple jubilees . They are humongous ! I bought from a breeder . they are old english. I hope to incubate some of their eggs in the spring.@granny hatchet in November I got Speckled Sussex, Lavender Orpington, BLRW, and a couple of Jubilee Orpingtons!
However about 2 weeks after I moved them to the adult coop, something got in my coop and killed all 8 of my new babies and one of my adult hens! Broke my heart. Part of why I have baby chick fever right now.
