Do you think it is ok to put a brooder in the same room as a hot tub? This is a finished room inside our garage. Most years we have it emptied for the season by now, but it's still really cold here and we're still using the hot tub.
I could move the brooder to the garage, but it just seems like the ducklings will be more vulnerable there. The door gets left open while the kids are playing. They will be more prone to drafts and predators that way. The hot tub room has it's own door and is climate controlled. Except for the hot tub chemicals, I feel it is a much safer environment for the ducklings.
We don't overdo the chemicals in our hot tub, but it does have the typical smell. Will that hurt the ducks? I'm not sure which option is going to be better.
