Is it safe to use the above shown 0.25 sq.inch
Mesh for flooring of my brooder for my 4week old chicks? Thank you in advace for your responses :)

Chick want to be able to scratch and dig in bedding, much better for them. Heavy chicks sitting on even coated wire will not be comfortable, and outside, predators can reach up and remove toes or feet through wire.
It's just not best, and four week old chicks can and should be out in their coop anyway.

Seeing more of this brooder, and knowing where it is located might help with responses.

Curious why you want a mesh floor?
The 1/4" size is better for chick feet and predator issues, but the poops wont fall thru for long.

This brooder is inside my house I wanted to know whether I could house my new 16, 1week chicks in it because I thought it will be more easier to clean poop rather than using saw dust which needs to be changed every 2 days.

Thanks dude for your response, Is there any other method by which I could use clean the brooder easily?

Here we use bagged shavings, a couple of inches deep, and add a bit more every few days. the feeder and waterer are raised out of the shavings gradually as the chicks grow, so they can reach, but not dumb so many shavings in the containers. If there is a water spill, that wet area is cleaned out, otherwise, it's good until the chicks move by three weeks, to their section of the coop, also with shavings.

I am building a new deep litter system for my chickens it is of 180sq.ft. in area. Can you suggest the number of chickens that can be accomodated in this setup?
