Hello I am a newbie to the BYC and part of my "flock" are 6 ducklings and 2 goslings that I house together... They are all 2 weeks old and are getting a lil big for the make shift brooder and the smell is starting to get to me... I am wanting to house them in the barn with in a bigger brooder but I am concerned it will be too hot for them, I am in the southern part of OK and we have been hitting some high temps as of late.. The barn is running at a temp of 90+ and cools down to about 80 at night... I am wondering if this is wise to move them there?... Currently they and the 5 baby turkeys (seperate brooder) are in my house..

Where do you guys brooder? If the temps are already pretty warm... Is it safe to build a brooder hutch and house them outside as long as the hutch is Safed out for all things... Weather and pests and enemies?

Your input is valuable!

mine start out in a rubber maid tub the day after hatch then at a day or two old they go in a old goat trough in my garage then at a month old they go out into a rabbit hutch out by my breeding pens then at maybe a month and a half or two months they go into the rite pen with birds of their own breed and that is the process they go through kinda alot but its worth it....a hutch would be great or a there own coop or something
