Brooder plates vs CHE?

Hey experts. I am planning on raising chicks very soon and am trying to get all set up. I plan on having less than ten chicks at a time in a plastic tote turned brooder. I already have a che, but have been rading about brooder plates and am intrigued. Anyone have strong feelings about one over the other? Experiences with each? Thank you!

Brooder plates are more natural and less fire hazard. And can be raised as the chicks grow. Brooder plates are the way to go!!!!

Ceramic Heating Element?
I love my DIY 'plate', make sure you get one big enough...number of birds they say will fit is over-exaggerated, just like prefab coops are.

I always thought it was ceramic heat emitter but element seems right. Yes that is what I mean. It is bulb shaped and fits in the same clip on reflector thing. Just no light.

Element or emitter, both work.
Tried 'em, didn't like 'em.

Incredibly informative. I'm only going to have 10 chicks or less. I think i may try the CHE first and see how it goes since I already have it and I won't have to clean it. Seems like quite a fdw people have had success with them, just takes a little more testing before hand to get it just right.

Element or emitter, both work.
