brooder size

what size brooder would i need for 20-25 chicks. i want one big enough for them so i dont have to build anything else till they turned loose in the big pin. im thinking 3x6 or 4x8 at the biggest.

Either one will be big enough, as long as it is tall enough for them to get on roost after a few weeks. You only need 0.75-1 sq ft a bird to get you through 6-8 weeks, but be prepared for daily cleanings!

3x6 should be fine until 4-5 weeks! around 5 weeks put them in a grow out coop with a low hanging bulb for heat for a week or 2.
