brooder suggestions...

just wanted to give a suggestion for a brooder for chicks... we have been using the totes.. BUT since we just had both our bathrooms done we had a box that the tub was in! WOW its awesome... its big and disposable.. but i plan on keeping the shavings deep enough that i hope to not have to throw the box away for at least till all my hatching and buying chicks is done

thought that maybe you all could use this bit of info !

gosh darn it, I've been stuck for ideas on a larger "grow out" box for my 3 week old chicks and I forgot I have a box the bumper for my jeep came in in the basement! You want to talk about a huge box! lol! So glad I read this.

We have a big tote (35 gallons) to use for the first few weeks. My husband works in a warehouse, and was telling me about some large, very sturdy shipping boxes they get, so he'll be bringing home at least one of those for us!
