Brooder temp question

What about when they're 7 weeks old and out in the coop? We still have a light out there, but I'm not sure if we need it. They're barred rocks and Rhode Island reds.

Carolina, wish I knew. Like so many other things, the answers seem variable.

I got a 40 watt bulb today. Hopefully that will solve the problem.

i keep mine on at night at 80 degrees but during the day it gets very hot (98) so i turn it off every morning
